Goodreads Synopsis:
The New York Times bestselling Mortal Instruments continues—and so do the thrills and danger for Jace, Clary, and Simon.

What price is too high to pay, even for love? When Jace and Clary meet again, Clary is horrified to discover that the demon Lilith’s magic has bound her beloved Jace together with her evil brother Sebastian, and that Jace has become a servant of evil. The Clave is out to destroy Sebastian, but there is no way to harm one boy without destroying the other. As Alec, Magnus, Simon, and Isabelle wheedle and bargain with Seelies, demons, and the merciless Iron Sisters to try to save Jace, Clary plays a dangerous game of her own. The price of losing is not just her own life, but Jace’s soul. She’s willing to do anything for Jace, but can she still trust him? Or is he truly lost?

Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series.

Review:
The entire book I was so confused about what was happening with Jace and the whole idea of this different Jace. The reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 was because I hated that there was yet another thing that Clary and Jace had to go through. I think out of all of the books, City of Lost Souls was my least favorite. And it still earned 4 stars which says a lot about how much I enjoyed this series.

Other than that, I really enjoyed the book. I felt more relaxed reading it because I think it had a lot slower of a pace than the other books. Then again, who REALLY feels relaxed while reading a Cassandra Clare book…

I truly think that this series is something special and I highly suggest you check it out!

I read this book and I felt the same way, here is another obstacle that Clary and Jace have to overcome to be together. But I did enjoy this series and can't wait for more books in The Dark Artifices series.

I haven't read Lady Midnight yet but I am currently reading the third book of the Infernal Devices.

I felt similarly, Shoshi. It was ilike, can't Clary and Jace ever get a break and just be together? The answer? No. No they can't. LOL I hated seeing Jace under Sebastian's control in this one!
