Sweet Peril Review

Synopsis: Anna Whitt, daughter of a guardian angel and a fallen one, promised herself she'd never do the work of her father- polluting souls. She'd been naive to make such a claim. She'd been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing the dark side and earning an unwanted reputation of her school's party girl. And all the while, there's Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself travelling the globe with Kopano, son of the Duke of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedom Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: Is loving someone worth risking your life?

Review:
After a close call at the summit, Anna and Kaidan are basically pulled away from each other. It is for their own safety but it still makes me upset because I've shipped Anna and Kai from the moment they met. Now,  Anna is forced to begin working. She must corrupt souls in the way the other Nephilim do. She is no longer the innocent, good girl we met in Sweet Evil. I was glad to find that even though Anna acted differently, she was still the same Anna. 

We didn't see Kaidan for like 200 pages. I mean, yeah, we got glimpses of him but for the most part, Anna was with Kopano. Anna and Kope go all over, recruiting Neph allies for the fight for their freedom. Thankfully, the last stop on Anna's mission is LA, which is where Kaidan (and Blake) happen to be. One of my favorite parts of the book was while Anna was in LA. Anna proves to Kaidan that she isn't the same as the last time they met. This causes Kai to lose control for a split second and he shows his colors for a tiny, quick moment. From that point on, it was Kaidan and Anna moments for the rest of the book. 

We see more of the other Neph than we do of Kai. We get loads of information about Kopano and his father as well. We get introduced to a new Nephilim. Her name is Zania, daughter of Sonellion (Duke of Hatred). Zania has some serious issues. All of that aside, Zania becomes a good friend of Anna's. She becomes an even better friend of Kope's... if you get what I mean... ;)

When Kaidan rushed to the airport and met Anna before she left to admit his feelings, I think my heart burst because I was so overjoyed. FINALLY!! 

After that scene, I put the book down for a few days because I was so happy and I didn't want anything to get in the way of that. After that I couldn't hold back any longer and I obviously read the rest of the book. AHH why are guy in books so much better than guys in real life?? Totally not fair. I definitely recommend this series!
