I was tagged to do The Mid-Year Book Freakout Tag by Alaina over at An Infinite Book World! I tag anyone reading this to do this tag! 1. Best book you've read in 2017 The best book that I have read so far this year is Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. This was a tough decision to make because I have read many great books this year! 2. Best sequel you've read so far in 2017 The best sequel that I have read so far this year is A Court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J. Maas. ACOMAF is such an amazing follow-up to A Court of Thorns and Roses! I really loved reading it and I think it was one of the best sequels I have ever read. 3. New release you haven't read yet, but want to A new release that I haven't read yet is Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall. This isn't a super new release as it came out in January of this year. I have heard wonderful things about this book from Emmmabooks' Youtube channel and I am very excited to read it! 4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year This was a very hard question to answer. There are many books that I am eagerly anticipating. I have decided to use If There's No Tomorrow by Jennifer L. Armentrout for this question. I am a huge fan of Jennifer's and her books have become an auto-buy for me. So, I am obviously excited for a new release from her. 5. Biggest disappointment All of the books I have read so far in 2017 have been good or great! Since none of the books I read disappointed me, I am going to use a book that I didn't like nearly as much as I thought I would. That book would be Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas. Throne of Glass was really hard to get into for me and I didn't love it like I expected I would. 6. Biggest surprise The biggest suprise of 2017 so far was how much I loved Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare. I had been waiting to read Lady Midnight for a while and it was so hyped up that I was worried I wouldn't like it. However, it ended up being one of my favorite books of the year so far! 7. Favorite new author (debut or new to you) My favorite new author is Sarah J. Maas. I first read her books a few months ago and I love her writing style! I have read the A Court of Thorns and Roses series and I have read most of the Throne of Glass series. I am looking forward to finishing Empire of Storms and reading more books by her as they are published! 8. Newest fictional crush Wow, this is really hard to answer!! I couldn't just pick one, so I am going to give three answers. The first would be Aiden from the Covenant series by Jennifer L. Armentrout. The second would be Julian from the Dark Artifices trilogy by Cassanda Clare. And, last but not least, Rhysand from the A Court of Thorns and Roses series by Cassandra Clare. 9. Newest favorite character I am going to give this one to the lovely Emma Carstairs. Since I read Lady Midnight and Lord of Shadows, I have developed a strong liking toward Emma. I feel like she is such a great character and she is so well-developed and complex. 10. Book that made you cry I keep using this as my answer but I can't help it because it is the first one that I think of for some of these questions. A book that made me cry was Lord of Shadows by Cassandra Clare. The ending of the book is what really made me cry. I won't spoil the ending, but I will say that if you read this book, make sure to have tissues nearby. 11. Book that made you happy A book that made me happy was The Unexpected Everything by Morgan Matson. This book made me very happy and satisfied with the ending and the entire book. It made me very hapy to read and I really enjoyed it. 12. Favorite book to film adaptation you saw this year Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of any of the book to movie adaptations that I watched this year. The one that I disliked the least was probably The Mortal Instruments. I didn't love this movie but I also didn't hate it so this is what I will be using for this question. 13. Favorite review you've written this year I think my favorite review that I have written this year was my review for A Court of Mist and Fury. I haven't posted it yet, but I am really proud of how it turned out and I think people will enjoy reading it! 14. Most beautiful book you've bought this year (or recieved) The most beautiful book that I have gotten this year would be Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Louise Gornall. It has such a gorgeous cover and I can't wait to see if it corresponds with the story. 15. What books do you need to read by the end of the year I have a ton of books that I want to read by the end of the year and naming all of them will require an entire seperate blog post. So, I am going to name a few books from my TBR: Wicked by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Caraval by Stephanie Garber, Under Rose-Tainted Skies by Lousie Gournall, and Dividing Eden by Joelle Charbonneau.
